Baccarat Protocols
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued under 10 are said to be worth their printed number while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they just portray the two hands to be played).
2 hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dropped. For e.g., a hand of 7 … five will have a total score of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card may be played depending on the following protocols:
- If the player or banker has a total score of eight or nine, each gamblers stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Winning stakes on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so make sure that you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winner bets for tie commonly pays eight to 1 and on occasion 9 to 1. (This is an awful bet as ties will happen lower than one every 10 hands. Stay away from placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are greatly better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)
When done properly, baccarat offers pretty good odds, away from the tie wager obviously.
Baccarat Strategy
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common false impressions. 1 of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is surely not an actual indicator of future events.
