Baccarat Policies
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards that are valued less than 10 are of their printed number and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they merely act as the 2 hands to be dealt).
2 hands of 2 cards are then played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for every hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven … five results in a score of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card might be played depending on the foll. practices:
- If the bettor or banker has a total score of 8 or nine, both bettors stand.
- If the gambler has five or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the 2 scores is the winner. Victorious stakes on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have money remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie commonly pays out at 8 to one and occasionally nine to one. (This is not a good bet as ties happen less than 1 every ten hands. Run away from wagering on a tie. Even so odds are significantlly better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to 1)
When done smartly, baccarat provides relatively good odds, away from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way a predictor of future events. Staying abreast of past outcomes on a chart is simply a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most commonly used and probably most successful strategy is the 1-three-2-6 technique. This process is deployed to pump up wins and reducing risk.
start by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the third gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a value of 6 on the 4th wager.
If you lose on the first wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
