Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards than are of a value less than ten are worth face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they simply appear as the 2 hands to be given out).

2 hands of two cards will now be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for every hand will be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 as well as five gives a total of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be given depending on the foll. standards:

- If the gambler or banker has a value of eight or 9, then both players stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart is used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful bets on the banker pay 19 to twenty (even money less a five % commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have cash remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie usually pays out at 8 to 1 but sometimes nine to one. (This is a bad bet as ties will occur less than 1 every 10 hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are considerably better – nine to one vs. eight to 1)

When played properly, baccarat presents generally good odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is surely not an actual indicator of future actions. Staying abreast of last outcomes on a chart is a complete waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and feasibly most successful strategy is the one-3-2-six concept. This scheme is employed to increase payout and controlling risk.

start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away four so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a total of six on the 4th bet.

If you lose on the first bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore that you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
