Baccarat Chemin de Fer Policies and Method

Baccarat Principles

Punto banco is wagered on with 8 decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below 10 are worth face value and with 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is 1. Bets are made on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t really people; they simply represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two cards are given to both the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for each hand is the total of the 2 cards, but the beginning number is ignored. For instance, a hand of 5 and six has a total of one (five plus six = eleven; drop the initial ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be given using the following rules:

- If the player or house gets a total of eight or 9, both players stay.

- If the gambler has less than five, she takes a card. Players otherwise stand.

- If the gambler stands, the banker hits on 5 or lower. If the player hits, a table is used to see if the banker stands or takes a card.

Punto Banco Odds

The larger of the two hands wins. Winning wagers on the house pay out 19:20 (equal money less a five percent rake. Commission are tracked and cleared out when you quit the game so make sure you have funds left over before you quit). Winning bets on the gambler pays out at one to one. Winning wagers for a tie normally pays 8 to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as ties happen less than one in every 10 rounds. Be wary of betting on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9:1 versus 8 to 1)

Played properly baccarat chemin de fer provides generally good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Strategy

As with all games baccarat banque has a handful of established misconceptions. One of which is the same as a misunderstanding in roulette. The past is not a harbinger of future actions. Recording previous outcomes on a page of paper is a poor use of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our stationary needs.

The most familiar and probably the most favorable scheme is the 1-3-2-6 technique. This technique is used to build up winnings and limit losses.

Start by betting one unit. If you succeed, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 chips on the second bet. If you succeed you will hold six on the table, pull off four so you keep 2 on the third round. If you succeed on the third wager, deposit 2 on the 4 on the game table for a total of 6 on the fourth round.

If you do not win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first wager followed by a hit on the second causes a hit of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third provides you with a profit of two. And success on the 1st three with a hit on the 4th means you experience no loss. Winning all four bets leaves you with 12, a take of ten. This means you are able to not win on the second wager five times for every successful streak of four wagers and still break even.
