Baccarat Rules

Baccarat Policies

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards with less than a value of ten are give a value of face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they only portray the 2 hands to be played).

Two hands of two cards are then given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for every hand shall be the sum total of the two cards, but the very first digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven as well as 5 gives a tally of 2 (7plus5=12; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card could be played depending on the foll. protocols:

- If the gambler or banker has a value of eight or nine, both players stand.

- If the player has five or lower, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used in order to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores is the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay 19 to twenty (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have funds left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winner bets for tie usually pay eight to one but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a terrible wager as ties will happen less than one every ten hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Even so odds are actually better – 9 to one versus 8 to one)

When done smartly, baccarat offers fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with many games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually a predictor of future happenings. Monitoring of last results on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and probably most successful strategy is the 1-three-two-6 concept. This method is employed to pump up winnings and minimizing risk.

Begin by betting one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Thus you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
